When it comes to choosing which cleansing agents are suitable for decontamination, several considerations can interfere with your choice. Is this agent damaging to me and my equipment? Are the effects of this agent long-lasting? And most importantly, is it effective? You need to be sure the products you use are effective, which is why Lennox is now offering ExitusPlus to our customers.

Suitable for cleaning PCR workstations and equipment, ExitusPlus is a solution for the removal of DNA and RNA contamination from surfaces that has a number of key features.

Here are the three core benefits of ExitusPlus:

 Effective Decontamination

One of the primary advantages of using ExitusPlus is its long-lasting decontamination effects.

DNA amplification is one of the most used techniques in the modern research laboratory. The presence of contaminating DNA in and around PCR workstations can lead to unwanted artifacts during the amplification phase.

ExitusPlus by AppliChem gets rid of contamination in your lab by targeting surfaces that have been involved in DNA/RNA extraction. This ensures that your forensic analysis results are reliable for further testing – and no unwanted artifacts have altered your sample.

Non-Toxic & Non-Corrosive

Another benefit to using ExitusPlus is its safe-to-use policy on all laboratory equipment including worktops, apparatus, pipettors, and plastic and glass vessels.

A heavy disadvantage of common conventional decontamination reagents is the corrosive potential of their components – which leads to the breakdown, damage, and corrosion of metal surfaces within the laboratory, as well as your equipment and apparatus.

ExitusPlus is a non-alkaline, non-corrosive and non-carcinogenic cleansing solution which is suitable for use on all surfaces.

 Fast-acting

ExitusPlus by AppliChem is a fast-acting solution, in a ready-to-use format. For contaminations with insignificant amounts of DNA, instant decontamination is possible when using this cleansing agent.

For exceptionally large contaminations, approximately 5 to 10 minutes at room temperature is sufficient to kill off any living bacteria.

For higher amounts of DNA, it is recommended to repeat the cleansing procedure in addition to increasing the temperature of the solution to 50°C or 60°C, which will aid in the substantial degradation rate of DNA.
